Mr. Lee Classroom
| Rm 151

In my classroom, it is important that culture is present to set the foundation of an open and safe place to share ideas that can be built upon. A classroom culture establishes a climate that encourages dialogue and honesty with open discussion. This environment helps my students feel connected and comfortable with the standard learning material and sparks a passion for deeper learning by creating personal connections to the subject matter or content.  In fact, this helps to establish a positive learning environment.

Committed to Education

The ideology regarding a" high-quality learning environment" surrounds the concept of class culture, which correlates with how the classroom climate remains set and  builds the general idea of how a positive learning environment is established. The scholarly article "National School Climate Center," illustrated how learning environments, represented by a positive class culture and climate, are associated with "academic achievement, effective risk prevention efforts, and positive youth development"(National School Climate Center, 2013).

With this in mind, my classroom must provide a culture and climate that supports learning and open engagement for my students to learn and dissect the material taught effectively. Examples of how this can be high levels of trust in collaborations that resulted in project-based learning projects where students researched and dissected new information.
